Sedona City is located in Arizona north, and is bordered by Flagstaff to the northeast and the Grand Canyon to the north. Phoenix is also just a two hours drive away. Sedona has a semi arid type of climate, though the city owes most of its abundant water supply from the mountains that are found nearby. However, when compared to the nearby city of Phoenix, one will notice that in Sedona, winters are slightly colder while summers on the other hand are a bit milder.

Sedona is one of the most popular travel destinations in the USA. Since time immemorial, Native Americans have always travelled to this city for various reasons, most of which are spiritual. Many people who visit this valley for the first time are marveled by its awesomeness. The land is characterized by very high sandstone cliffs, pinnacles, mesas and buttes of rocks brought about by the erosion of these rocks. The Sedona Village is found right in the middle of this natural scenery.

Perhaps what elevates Sedona attractions to a class of their own above other similar attractions like the Grand Canyon and the Yosemite Valley is their accessibility. One can access these scenic views however and wherever, be it when driving, biking or even hiking. The hotel rooms found nearby are also very strategically located in that one can catch a very amazing view of the scenery.

The spiritual attraction to Sedona can not be overemphasized. Many universal vortexes are located here, and these are believed to provide the people that come here seeking for them with metaphysical enlightenment as well as spiritual healing. Many shops and boutiques that are found in this area have capitalized on this desperation from the visitors seeking spiritual freedom and make a kill by selling to them power crystals, copper bracelets, Indian amulets and other paraphernalia believed to have spiritual attachment to them. However, there are still some people who only travel there for fun and to them, a bottle of great wine is all they need, and not the crystals. Yoga classes are very common in many of the resorts and spas found here. There is also a small airfield found on one of the mesas. Visitors can take advantage of the helicopter and airplane tours offered by the airport.

Sedona presents very beautiful scenery when driving around the area. If one approaches it from Flagstaff, then they can use the Oak Creek Canyon main entrance. The canyon’s walls are of rocks of various colors, ranging from red to white, pink and brown, and rise up to 350 meters or more. The airport road leads to the airstrip on the mesa. Many visitors like this area as it offers some of the best views of the surrounding scenery. Other rocks for catching the spectacular views include the Cathedral Rock, the Bell Rock, the Soldiers, the Chimney Rock, and the Coffeepot among many other spots. There are also some wonderful marriage locations in the Sedona as well. Some favorite activities here include hiking, walking, horseback riding and bicycle touring and so on.
